Accreditation
IFAB is an accredited test laboratory (pdf) by DAkkS for DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-03 for the proof of the effectiveness of water-based fire-fighting systems by fire tests for rolling stock (rail vehicles), industrial plants, public places, store rooms, engine and machinery spaces, tunnel- and transport infrastructure systems as well as high-voltage batteries and the experimental determination of design fire scenarios by full scale fire tests.
It applies to fields that are stated in the annex of the accreditation D-PL-19994-01-00e within the following scope:
• Standardised fire tests,
• Not standardised fire tests (ad hoc).
Ad hoc fire tests will be applied to the experimental determination of design fire scenarios by full scale fire tests. Therefore, IFAB has developed its own test procedures which are part of the accreditation. Moreover, further measurement variables can be determined during fire tests.
