Con­cepts

Fire safe­ty con­cepts are imple­ment­ed to mit­i­gate and reduce fire risks and con­se­quences as iden­ti­fied in the fire risk analy­sis. IFAB devel­ops fire safe­ty con­cepts, the evi­dence of fire safe­ty design and fire safe­ty plan­ning on the base of gen­er­al­ly accept­ed build­ing law prin­ci­ples. We have spe­cif­ic exper­i­men­tal knowl­edge gained from fire tests, result­ing in a holis­tic under­stand­ing of the per­for­mance of dif­fer­ent fire-fight­ing and mit­i­ga­tion meth­ods. This makes the ser­vices pro­vid­ed more real­is­tic and effec­tive than those based sole­ly on a the­o­ret­i­cal approach. This is essen­tial for opti­miz­ing costs and the per­for­mance of sys­tems.

Plan­ning

Imple­ment­ing non-stan­dard fire safe­ty con­cepts requires coor­di­nat­ed plan­ning of all the design top­ics for con­struc­tion­al, tech­ni­cal and orga­ni­za­tion­al fire safe­ty. IFAB offers sup­port and con­sul­tan­cy through­out this plan­ning process. IFAB’s prod­uct port­fo­lio includes archi­tec­ton­ic and cre­ative aspects, logis­ti­cal require­ments, life cycle costs and the tech­ni­cal reli­a­bil­i­ty of fire safe­ty solu­tions.

If there are uncon­ven­tion­al ideas and solu­tions required for ambi­tious objects such as atria, glass facades, spe­cial build­ings with an archi­tec­tur­al sta­tus of con­ser­va­tion, metro sta­tions or his­toric build­ings, IFAB is able to offer the devel­op­ment of pro­tec­tion objec­tive ori­en­tat­ed fire safe­ty con­cepts and the evi­dence of fire safe­ty designs due to a great vari­ety of IFAB‘s exper­i­men­tal analy­ses in years and accord­ing to approved engi­neer­ing meth­ods. Espe­cial­ly, when con­ven­tion­al mea­sures do not work and are not eco­nom­i­cal­ly effi­cient, we are able to offer the devel­op­ment of uncon­ven­tion­al mea­sures and to ensure the via­bil­i­ty for an object. Here­by, the tech­ni­cal approach is devel­oped and the prin­ci­ples for the fol­low­ing plan­ning process­es of all work peri­ods are estab­lished.
